IPA Renewal is Compulsory

IPA Renewal is an important business practice that is expected of all registered businesses in PNG.

IPA requires all businesses to renew their businesses so that they remain valid in compliance with the Business Name Act of the country.

The Renewal fee is K280. per renewal year. Was K300.

IPA SYSTEM UPGRADE;

IPA WANTS ALL BUSINESSES TO RE-REGISTER. THAT MEANS, IN ORDER FOR US TO FILE RENEWAL FOR YOUR BUSINESS, WE WILL FIRST HAVE TO RE-REGISTER IT. 

We, at PNG SME Directory, have two types (categories) of clients;

Category 1

For those who have registered their businesses with us, PNG SME Directory, the only requirement is to send us your payment receipt. See our bank account details.

Regarding Re-registration, you don’t need to worry since we already have your information so we will use what we have to register your business.

Category 2

For those who have registered elsewhere; either directly with IPA or through other agents, we will have to do a three (3) steps process to renew your business;

• Firstly, we will have to get your permission through a letter of authority;
• Secondly, when authorization is granted, we will re-register your business using information that you will provide; and
• Finally, we will renew it for you which usually takes a few hours.

Firstly, you will have to grant us permission first through a Letter of Authority. Read below:

Requirements for Category 2

The requirements for Category 2 are;

1. Send us a Letter of Authority which will grant us permission to file your renewals and to amend details of your business. The letter must be written on your busines’s letterhead and signed by the owner(s). See Sample of Letter of Authority

2. Send a clear picture of your valid ID. The three IDs considered ‘valid’ are; NID, current drivers license or passport. Send one of these.

If you do not have any of the three valid IDs, then produce your own personal ID using your new business. Mention yourself on the ID as manager of your new/current business and it must be verified with a Statutory Declaration either through the courthouse or through any Commissioner of Oath.
