VALID ID & How to Validate your Personal ID

The Investment Promotion Authority, Internal Revenue Commission and other key Government institutions require only valid ID cards as a form of identification.

Your work IDs are considered “not valid”.

Examples of cases where they require such valid IDs are during TIN registration with IRC and during IPA authorization granting when you would like agents such as PNG SME Directory to do your IPA Renewals or Amendments.

Your work IDs are no longer considered “valid”. So do not bother sending IDs that are not part of what is expected.

There are only THREE forms of ID that are considered valid. They are;

1). NID;

2). Passport; and

3). Driver’s License.

Those IDs must not expire at the time of application. Renew them before applying.

Fortunately, there is only one easy way to validate your Personal ID. Read below.

What if you don’t have any of the valid IDs?

If you do not have any of the three valid IDs, you can produce an ID yourself using your new business and validate it. (You cannot do this to your other work IDs).

This can be done by yourself or by anyone at printshops or stationery shops in town.

Below are the procedures to validating your personal ID;

1). Produce an ID under your newly registered business. Have your name, ID PHOTO and logo of your business on the ID.

2). Mention yourself as Manager, Director or Secretary (whatever position that suits you).

3). Download the Statutory Declaration form from our Download Section and fill it out with information similar to the following;

I, JOE Pupu of Kuku village, Mumu LLG, Tutu District do solemnly declare that I am the owner and Manager of PUPU TRADING. This ID is a true copy of my personal ID.

4). Take the ID and the Statutory Declaration form to the District Courthouse, Public Solicitors Office or to any Commissioner of Oath such as lawyers to sign and stamp on it. (District Courthouses and PubSol do it for free. Lawyers do charge small fees).

When you submit your validated ID, send a picture of that ID together with the State Dec.
